Welcome! Many people have been asking me to share these documents that I compiled after the 2018 False Missile Alert here in Hawai’i. We hosted a Free Preparedness course and provided attendees with the following material. My hope is that they are of use, help quell collective anxiousness around unforeseen events, boost confidence and ease within our neighborhoods and communities.
If you are new to “prepping” it may feel overwhelming. Please try to allow yourself time to integrate it all, being prepared is a life long practice and no one has it “perfected.” Take what works for you and slowly evolve. In a longer term survival situation, persistent anxiety and stress will do far more harm than not having enough toilet paper.
Humans are RESILIENT and CREATIVE and COOPERATIVE by nature.
Take heart in that while preparing for the little hiccups we may experience along the way. It could be a hurricane, illness, economic shifts, or even just an unexpected job loss. Being in a habitual preparedness mindset helps you ride the inevitable crests and troughs of life. Sending your adrenals into overdrive every time there is a run on canned foods is generally living in a hypervigilant state. While this serves an acute survival purpose, it can become draining over the long term. Slow, steady, consistent, habitual, wholesome, healthy and evolving lifestyle practices are your best bet at success. Happy Prepping!
Disclaimer: I am NOT a professional, just a gal that wanted to help out my neighbors. So this is by no means a complete nor expert list.
